​​AUTHORESS® began at a sewing machine, not in a boardroom.
I started sewing my own clothes while recovering from burnout in a corporate job, learning about fit and fabric one garment at a time. What began as a personal skill soon became a point of view, that clothing, like the food we consume, should be made thoughtfully. It sits close to our skin, affects our comfort, and becomes part of our daily life. All our pieces are designed and produced in small batches using natural fabrics like cotton, linen, kotta, chikan etc. This brand is built slowly and intentionally. Not mass-produced.​
These photographs are from the early days, when there was no website and I used to set up a small stall at pop-ups. Long days and real conversations with people discovering the brand for the first time. That’s where I learned what worked, what didn’t, and what really mattered to the women wearing these clothes.
And even now, I intend to keep building this brand with the same care I did when it was just a small stall and a lot of hope.
